Plinio Vanini

President, Gruppo Autotorino

Plinio Vanini

President, Gruppo Autotorino

Plinio Vanini started working in Autotorino in 1985, after the premature passing of his father leaving his big passion for farm animals in the background. From a hall with a mechanic in Morbegno, step by step the Autotorino Group has grown and took the shape that we know today, thanks to an extremely personalized offer model, a multi-brand offer and several mobility services, becoming Italian leader in the industry since 2015 and stabilizing his role in 2019 with the fusion with another important Italian daelership Gruppo Autostar. The Group had maintained the business district in Valtellina and it has over 50 branches in 20 districts between Lombardia, Piemonte, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. One of its distinctive features is a vision oriented to quality and innovation of organizational models and of the services offered, supported by constant investments in training, research and development: a path that granted to Autotorino for three times the national award for Management Innovation by the Automotive Dealer Day’s jury. Figure that grows, between 2009 and 2019, at 5 if added to the awards given to Autostar, testifying the organicity of the path chosen. In march 2019 Assolombarda, Università Luiss and CERVED awarded the Industria Felix Award to Autotorino for the second year in a row, among the most performing and strong Lombard companies. Plinio Vanini, meanwhile, has continued to nurture his passion for the livestock, completing his project of an authentic alpine farm organized in a modern way, the agritourism company La Fiorida, and driving the ‘Associazione Provinciale Allevatori’ of Sondrio for more than a lustrum.
